Claudia Muniz

Claudia Muniz is a Mexican immigrant who came to the U.S. with her family when she was seven years old.  She became a U.S. Citizen when she turned 15 and was the first in her family to graduate from high school and college. She is a Sunset High School Alumni and has lived in the Oak Cliff area since she moved to Dallas. She is passionate about education because she believes it is the key to open the doors of opportunity.  She believes knowledge is power, knowledge improves and enhances all areas of your life and broadens your horizons. Knowledge is the only thing no one can take away from you.

She has a BBA in finance from the University of Texas and has worked in accounting and finance for 20 years.  She has worked and contributed to two Fortune 500 companies; Univision and CBRE.  She is currently a controller at Structural & Steel Products, a manufacturer and distributor of steel products for highways. For several years she served on the board of Bison Giving Back, an organization dedicated to raising funds to award scholarships to seven local high schools in Oak Cliff.  She has a passion for helping others and for seeing them succeed.
