Our Scholarships

Over the last 25 years, the Opportunity Rising Foundation, an initiative of DHA, Housing Solutions for North Texas, has helped scholars living in DHA-supported housing pursue their collegiate goals and attend the colleges of their choice by providing scholarships, financial assistance, mentorship and learning opportunities.

There are four different types of scholarships provided:

  • The Opportunity Rising Scholarship – for scholars under 19 years of age enrolling in higher learning for the upcoming fall semester
  • The Summit Scholarship – for students returning to school after a separation of at least two years
  • The Ascend Scholarship – for students entering their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of higher learning with no lapses in semester
  • The Aspire Scholarship – for students pursuing their GED

All applications for these scholarship opportunities are open as of Monday, March 31, 2025.

The deadline to apply is April 25, 2025.

Internship Opportunities

The Opportunity Rising Foundation would like to officially announce the opening of DHA’s Summer Internship Program!

This is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience working with DHA’s incredible team of professionals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greet and field questions from DHA customers, clients and staff both in person and over the phone
  • Organize agency files, clear work orders and enter data
  • Write memos, work orders and other essential written correspondence
  • Understand the functions and value of DHA programs, procedures and client service
  • Enthusiastically promote the leadership team’s priorities for successful agency operations

The six-week internship begins Monday, June 2, 2025, and ends Friday, July 11, 2025. Interns will work a total of 19 hours per week.
